Your Guide to Seeking a Spiritual Practitioner

What to consider when you're looking for help

When seeking spiritual help, it’s natural to have questions such as:

  • How much should I expect to pay?
  • Who can I trust?
  • How long should this take?
  • What could be wrong with me?
  • What should I ask a practitioner before working with them?

These are all excellent and important questions. Please enjoy this guide with our compliments.

How Much Should You Expect to Pay?

You should expect to pay for an initial consultation—just as you would when visiting a medical doctor for a diagnosis. This fee should be reasonable and comparable to what you might pay your MD.

What you pay beyond that depends on what is discovered during the consultation. Be cautious of practitioners who charge close to $1,000 upfront, cannot clearly explain what attachment or issue you have, or insist the work will take many months without transparency.

A basic clearing typically costs a few hundred dollars. If additional issues are found, costs may increase accordingly. Everything should be clearly explained before you commit your hard-earned money. Transparency and education are key indicators of ethical spiritual work.

Who Can You Trust?

Do your research. Review the websites, videos, and social media posts of those you are considering working with. Notice who you resonate with—who makes you feel comfortable, understood, and at ease.

As you watch a video or read their content, imagine placing your spiritual well-being in that person’s hands. Does it feel right? Does it make sense to you?

Listen to your inner guidance. It will lead you to the practitioner who is your best energetic match.

How Long Should This Take?

Most clearings are completed in a single session lasting less than two hours.

In more severe cases—such as when multiple types of entities are involved—the work may be divided into multiple sessions. This is done intentionally to avoid moving too much energy at once, which could make you feel unwell. A skilled practitioner must carefully regulate your energy field throughout the process.

These follow-up sessions typically last between one and three hours. In my experience, even the most sensitive individuals rarely require more than three sessions. Ethical practitioners work on a pay-as-you-go basis, not all upfront.

What Could Be Wrong With Me?

The short answer is that you may have external entity attachments. These can influence emotions such as anger, depression, anxiety, addiction, or other negative states. These emotions create energetic conditions that certain external entities feed on and thrive within.

There are also internal entities, which are emotionally based disturbances—think of them as a “poltergeist of the mind.” These issues require the care of an emotional or mental health professional rather than a spiritual practitioner.

Internal and external issues are not mutually exclusive. In fact, one can invite the other. That is why it is often best to check for and clear external entities first, before diving deeply into emotional work. Clearing external interference removes energetic static, making emotional healing clearer and more effective.

What should I ask a practitioner before working with them?

When meeting with a spiritual practitioner, it’s important to ask thoughtful questions so you clearly understand the process and what to expect. Ask what types of entities are attached to you and get an estimate of how many are present. Make sure they explain how long the removal will take and what the recommended follow-up plan includes.

A trustworthy practitioner will also clarify what happens after the initial clearing. Once entities are removed, they cannot return—but you may still pick up new attachments in the future. Ask if they offer a contingency or tune-up option for this possibility, or if you would be required to pay for an entirely new clearing. Clear expectations now will help you feel confident and supported throughout your healing journey.
